Well.
I have not been having as much BLOG time as i would have hoped. But I've got a few minutes this morning....online.

We are in Flagstaff. Our hotel is right on the one of the last remaining strips of the actual route 66.
pretty.

The shows are going great. Today we leave for two night in PHX, AZ.
IT was HOT HOT HOT in Vegas, and will be again in PHX, but Flagstaff was a nice respite at 80 degrees.

I think that i will have internet in PHX.
more to come.

much love,

pulling into SLC

Well. So far the road has been kind.
Grants pass, chico, bend, baker city, and boise have all turned out quite well, especially now that our livers are back into the groove.
Pulling into salt lake city today for a show at the Paladium. Good times.
The weather in boise was HOT. All of us pacific northwest boys have been bearing cold, rainy and windy weather since Oct. The jump to mid 90's sunshine was a little bit much at first.

Cannot figure out how to post pictures while blogging on my phone, so more to come soon.
Love you
T

memories.....

i think i spotted my dad's '80 baby blue ford fairmont outside of seattle on i5.
ahh.....the memories.

dad, i think this was the last car you owned that i never stole/snuck out while you were sleeping. i hope so. i was only 9 years old when you bought this thing!!

on the road again.......

first two shows of the spring tour......are in the books.

seattle was lovely. it is always nice mixing on an old school midas xl console through a decent speaker system.

after soundcheck, we met up with dax + wendy for some top-shelf tai food at typhoons near the pike st market/showbox theater.
and let me tell you, the giant garlic prawns were truly giant.
the show went very well, despite a few unruly idiots that just wanted to fight and push.

the next day we took a long drive through the mountains towards spokane.
the crowd in spokane was great, and in many ways made up for those few idiots from seattle regardless of the c-market club and sound system.

i am glad that this tour is regional for the first two weeks....falling mostly on weekends. it is giving us the opportunity to get back into the "road groove" gently.
it gives us a respite, at home, between weekend shows.

after a couple regional weeks, it will be much easier to conquer a month of touring, going to sleep at 4am, waking at 9am, driving all day, working all night.....until 4am.....again.

recording engineer

as if my job title was not long enough and my resume not already over-complicated, i am now, officially, a recording engineer as well.

floater asked me to record/mix their new album.
it is the 10th album that they have released.
it is quite fitting that it is a live album.
we multi-track recorded over the course of two sold out nights at a 500 person venue in in eugene. the crowd was on fire.
this venue, the wow hall, was the birthplace of large crowds for floater many moons ago. a lot of history and sentiment is associated.

with my co-engineer/producer peter cornett by my side, we took the 5+ hours of raw material and edited/mixed/eq'd it down to a wonderfully intimate 53 minute live acoustic concert experience.

the final result is magical.
you can listen to a track on www.floater.com (possum's funeral) see player top right of page.

i have produced, recorded and mixed several albums before for my bands....brownhouse, sunset-red, treebender, but never a grammy nominated group that produces actual art with their instruments.
and.......i never got paid before either!! HA!

Floater - Live at the Wow comes out May 20.
i'm sure that we will have copies with us on the spring tour.

see you out there.
